Main components of a healthy lifestyle

A healthy lifestyle is necessary if we want to stay young, enjoy a vibrant general wellness and live longer. Studies show also that, in terms of the dollars spent, and of the pains endured, as well as of the lost of lives, prevention of chronic diseases is by far more cost effective than their treatment through medical prescriptions and care.

Increase awareness on the link between acidosis and chronic diseases

In our modern society degenerative chronic diseases are found to be the principal cause of premature aging and death. Nutritionists consider most degenerative diseases as being nutrition deficiency (imbalance) diseases. More and more studies show that one of the key nutritional balances to keep is the body acid-alkaline balance, commonly referred to as pH. The body pH should be slightly alkaline (7.0 to 7.5).

The situation where the body is too acidic (below pH 6.5) is far the most frequent and is called acidosis. Acidosis impairs our normal physiology and metabolism; as consequence, it causes a general autotoxication (self-poisoning) of the body and a surge of degenerative diseases. Maintaining a balanced alkaline body pH is definitely our first line of defense against aging and diseases.

These include:
premature aging, cancer, diabetes, obesity, hypertension, osteoporosis, acid reflux, Candida infections, cardiovascular diseases, low energy and chronic fatigue, arthritis, prostatitis, bladder and kidney conditions, autoimmune diseases, hypercholesterol, immune deficiency, periodontitis.

Acidosis is mostly due to our modern acidic diet. The foods we eat are divided into two groups: acid-forming foods (animal products, cereals, sugars) and alkaline-producing foods (vegetables, fruits). Processed foods are generally acid-producing foods. Keeping or restoring body pH balance begins with a proper diet, a proper nutrition. It is therefore important that our daily dietary intake of food acts to balance our body pH.

To maintain health our diet should consist of at least 80% of alkaline-producing foods and of no more than 20% of acid-forming foods. Unfortunately, our modern diet stands very far from that recommendation! Therefore, we should on a daily basis complete and balance our nutrition with nutritional supplements selected in relation with our normal diet and our health conditions.
